![]() ![]() These tips will help you get chewy and crunchy peanut butter cookies every time! Tips For The Best Keto Peanut Butter Cookies The extras are optional, but definitely enhance the end result. The basic, classic recipe for 3-ingredient keto peanut butter cookies requires just peanut butter, eggs, and sweetener. Use peeled peanuts that are salted or unsalted. Chopped Peanuts – I like to add these for a little crunch, but you can omit if you prefer a smoother texture.Sea Salt – Not necessary if you are using a salted peanut butter or salted peanuts, but I like to still add 1/4 teaspoon to balance the sweetness.Vanilla Extract – Adds more flavor to the cookies. For exact conversions, use my sweeteners conversion calculator. Same goes for anything super concentrated (like pure stevia powder), because it will change the structure of the finished cookie. I don’t recommend using erythritol or other brands of monk fruit (which typically contain erythritol), because it creates a noticeable cooling effect and also hardens the cookies too much. You can also use plain allulose for a similar result. Besti Monk Fruit Allulose Blend – This is the best sugar substitute for sugar-free peanut butter cookies, because it helps make them soft and chewy, with no aftertaste or cooling effect. ![]() I haven’t tested this keto peanut butter cookie recipe using flax eggs as an egg substitute, but let me know how it goes if you try it. You can also substitute almond butter, cashew butter, or other nut butters derived from keto nuts, though the texture may change, especially if what you use is more runny. Avoid the kind with the oil on the top that you have to stir before using, as the cookies will be flat. I recommend this brand or this brand, because they have the perfect consistency and aren’t too oily. Peanut Butter – Look for natural peanut butter that is thick and creamy (just like the sugary kinds), but without sugar.Basic 3-Ingredient Keto Peanut Butter Cookies: For measurements, see the recipe card below. This section explains how to choose the best ingredients for low carb peanut butter cookies, what each one does in the recipe, and substitution options. ![]() ![]() ![]() Notably, trauma can also lead to exophthalmos in cases of significant orbital swelling or hemorrhage. This often leads to a relative enophthalmos of the affected eye. When an orbital fracture is present, orbital tissue may herniate into the adjacent maxillary or ethmoid sinuses. The position of the globe within the orbit is a valuable measure to obtain. Of note, patients may not complain of diplopia if they have significant eyelid edema obstructing the visual axis, so gently holding eyelids open during motility testing can be helpful. It is useful to gather quantitative measurements with prism bars to better describe and monitor ocular motility. 3-6Ĭomprehensive evaluation of extraocular motilities can be completed in office with an alternate cover test in primary, lateral, and vertical gazes. 2-5 Diplopia may be the result of direct muscle or periorbital tissue incarceration, traumatic hemorrhage and swelling of the orbital tissue, or direct damage to muscles, nerves, or vasculature. In cases of post-traumatic V2 hypoesthesia, imaging is warranted.ĭouble vision is a common symptom of orbital trauma and has been reported in 16 to 56 percent of cases of orbital fractures. In those cases, consider inquiring about new onset numbness or loss of sensation in the upper teeth or lip. ![]() 1 Unfortunately, the use of this technique may be limited in cases of bilateral or antecedent sensation loss. This can be evaluated by testing sensation on both sides of the face in the V2 dermatome and asking the patient to rate sensation (0 to 10) on each side. It passes through the infraorbital canal along the orbital floor and may be damaged in blow-out fractures, leading to hypoesthesia. This nerve branch serves to provide tactile, temperature, and pain information from the midface (lower eyelid to upper lip), nasal cavity, teeth of the upper jaw, and palate. The infraorbital nerve arises from the maxillary division of the trigeminal nerve (cranial nerve V2). While edema and bruising may be fairly common in ocular trauma, they are far from pathognomonic for orbital fractures.īelow are findings more commonly seen in orbital fractures. Patients who present with orbital fractures may complain of a multitude of symptoms including eyelid swelling, ecchymosis, pain, or double vision. Once the globe is evaluated in full, attention is directed to the orbital exam. Timely management of these ophthalmic findings is important for preservation of vision. Trauma severe enough to fracture an orbital wall may present with findings such as iritis, iridodialysis, hyphema, vitreous hemorrhage, commotio retinae, retinal breaks, or in some cases, a ruptured globe. When a patient presents with a history of periorbital trauma, the globe must first be thoroughly evaluated for evidence of injury. Finally, the lateral wall of the orbit is comprised of the zygomatic bone and greater wing of the sphenoid. The orbital roof divides the orbit from the anterior cranial fossa and is composed of the frontal bone and the lesser wing of the sphenoid. It is through this tract that infections may spread from the sinus into the orbit. The medial wall possesses small anterior and posterior ethmoidal foramina that pierce through the wall and communicate with the adjacent ethmoid sinus. The lamina papyracea, translated from Latin as “thin wall,” is part of the ethmoid bone and is the thinnest bone of the orbit. The medial wall is formed by the maxillary bone, ethmoid bone, lacrimal bone, and lesser wing of the sphenoid. The largest paranasal sinus, the maxillary sinus, lies directly below the orbital floor. The infraorbital canal passes within the floor, and the bone medial to it is thin and susceptible to fracturing. The floor of the orbit is formed by the maxillary bone, palatine bone, and orbital process of the zygomatic bone. ![]() This article will familiarize readers with orbital fractures by reviewing clinical examination techniques, demonstrating common imaging findings, and providing guidance on imaging and referral patterns.įour walls form the boundaries of the orbit. ![]() Most have settings for the different foods and cook times, so it takes the guessing out of cooking. Pressure cooking dramatically speeds up cooking times by using a tightly sealed vessel where high pressure and steam work together to rapidly cook food from chicken to beans, grains, and vegetables. I throw it in the Instant Pot and prepare sandwiches, tacos, pasta, or salads with them. I love doing this with chicken when I forget to take it out of the freezer in advance. It can go from the freezer to your dinner plate in 30 minutes or less with just the press of the button. Use an Instant Pot for faster meals: Did you know you can cook frozen chicken in an Instant Pot without thawing? The same is true for beef and fish. Having these staples on hand helps me prepare meals in a pinch. I also like to buy my pantry staples in bulk because I know I will always use pasta, rice, canned tomatoes, and chickpeas, for example. I like buying chicken and ground beef in bulk, and freezing in portions for up to three months. I like to make huge batches of meatballs, lasagna, and Arabic stews and freeze them for when I don’t have time or energy to cook.īuy in bulk: While many of us have had to learn this skill the hard way this past year, buying in bulk not only saves money but also saves time from making too many shopping trips. But I never tweaked those proportions for some meals because those were the meals that were perfect for leftovers or freezing. And when I learned how to cook, it was in large quantities similar to how my mom prepared food. Prepare freezer meals: Coming from a large Middle Eastern family, my mom always made large quantities at mealtime. You just have to think about it once before you go shopping. This will make you feel less restricted and more prepared at dinnertime. This way you’re not just buying cabbage because it’s on sale, but because you plan to use it in a cabbage soup or to make coleslaw. Just think of a few meals for the week you’d like to make when planning your grocery list, and plan for leftovers at least one day during the week. YJ: Plan out your meals: This doesn’t have to be overwhelming or feel like a daunting task. NP: What are some hacks that you can share for whipping up a meal when you don’t feel like getting in the kitchen? Think of what you can assemble at home using quick shortcuts and pre-made items to make something your own. When it comes to homemade, don’t feel like it has to be 100-percent homemade. Homemade food will always feel like higher quality, but there are many times where it’s just not worth the time, money, or effort, especially when you’re pressed for time. And you can save a lot of effort (and an arm workout!) by buying almond milk instead of making your own. You can save money by buying salad dressings instead of making your own (just make sure the ingredients are recognizable). You can save time cooking and shredding chicken by using rotisserie chicken. Frozen vegetables are actually an excellent substitute for fresh since they retain their nutrients. And if a recipe calls for fresh trimmed veggies, you can swap with frozen ones. If a recipe calls for mirepoix to start a soup recipe, you can buy them pre-chopped all together. If a recipe calls for homemade pesto, you can substitute it with premade. But it’s also important to note that shortcuts in cooking can really help you get dinner on the table faster with those comforting home-cooked results. YJ: As day-to-day schedules begin changing, there may be a deeper desire for freezer meals or prepping meals in advance. NP: What are some ways to make cooking less of a production? It’s effortless, easy, and quick to prep, which means dinner is on the table a lot faster. This is a big reason why baked feta pasta went viral and became known as the TikTok pasta. The brachialis works with the biceps brachii when you flex your elbow, but it also works with the brachioradialis to flex your wrist. The brachialis is located in the upper arm and pulls on the ulna to flex the elbow. The muscle is innervated by axillary nerve. It is located on the anterior surface of the arm and functions as both an extensor and flexor of the arm. The coracobrachialis is a muscle that connects the humerus to the coracoid process. They are real-life puzzle room adventure that puts you in a room for 60 minutes, with up to 10 people. We did the most difficult room so neither of us escaped, but Dillon was a great game master and helped us out with clues that allowed us to complete most of the game. Our group of 10 was split into two teams of 5, but both teams did the same escape theme at the same time (they have multiple rooms, and duplicate themes, so you can all get the same experience). After the event, my manager said this was the best team building event he has ever been to! I would definitely recommend Escape Hunt to anyone considering a corporate team building event. Our event included catered lunch, a workshop about communication and ways of working, the hour escape room, and facilitated de-brief. Jim did a great job helping me plan the event and we had a great experience while staying within our budget. I worked with the owner Jim to put together a half-day team building event for our group of 10 people. Overall the room was good, I think they should improve their clue giving process based on how the puzzle is actually going, and Dillon, come on man, you knew what you were doing and it kind of ruined the experience for me. However after Dillon was so arrogant and snarky with me 10 minutes earlier it really rubbed me the wrong way. It happens, that alone wouldn’t be a big deal. After about 5 minutes they come into the room to tell us they forgot to reset something. We ask for a clue and they seem perplexed. Then as we were attempting to finish, we solve the next to last riddle and open a drawer to find nothing inside. Just for context there were probably 15 or so puzzles and we were on puzzle 12 with 30 minutes left when we got stuck so it’s not like we were behind. I say out loud we would really like no more hints unless we ask and he snarkily tells me that we asked for the answer on the previous one so he thought we’d just want all the answers. Not two minutes later we start working on a puzzle and struggle with it for maybe 20 seconds and the same manager, Dillon, comes on the speaker and just tells us the answer. They give us the explanation and we move on. So after 4 clues that didn’t give us any info we didn’t already know I ring the gong a 5th time and say can you please just explain the puzzle because we aren’t getting it. So we asked for another, and another, and another. The woman comes over the speaker and gives us an extremely basic clue that we clearly already knew as we were very close to solving it and it didn’t help. After trying this one puzzle for almost 10 minutes we ask for a clue. However we had two major issues during our last time there.įirst off we got to a puzzle that we were very close to solving, but couldn’t quite finish it off. I’d say this was a middle of the road one, decent puzzles, good, but not blow you away production value, if I did a room and had no issues I’d probably rate 3.5-4/5. I have done about 30 escape rooms in different cities throughout the country. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Don’t miss our Twitter Feed and Instagram Stories for the fastest updates. 12 Stones - 'Adrenalin' AFI - 'Miss Murder' Angels & Airwaves - 'Call to Arms' Atreyu - 'Falling Down' Black Tide - 'Shockwave' Coldplay - 'Violet Hill' Endeverafter - 'I Wanna Be Your Man'.
